Welcome to our Children’s Ministry page!

We are thankful we can use technology to help us stay connected and hope you will check here frequently for more ideas from our team.

If you are not already following us on Instagram, we encourage you to do so (@harpethhillschildrensministry).

Memorizing scripture is a fantastic way to know Jesus better. Email (lacyj@harpethhills.org or jenniferc@harpethhills.org) us videos of your children saying their Bible verses.

June’s Memory Verse:
“Do not be afraid, I am with you.”  Isaiah 43:5

Challenge Verses: Psalm 23, Lord’s Prayer & Matthew 6:9-13

During this time away, we love to hear how God is working in your daily life!
Let’s stay connected!

With love,

Communion Bread Recipe

While our church families will be having “home” church again, we thought it would be fun to offer up an easy recipe for Communion Bread. This is a great activity for you to do as a family. This spiritual ritual reminds us of the sacrifice Christ made for us, the quiet reflections allow us to center our thoughts on Christ and gives hope for the day we will be with Jesus in heaven. Hope that you will take this “staying at home” season to share these moments with your child.

3 cups plain flour 1 cup Crisco/coconut oil/butter
2 teaspoons salt 1 cup ice water
Cut shortening into flour. Add salt and mix in. Use a fork to blend in ice water, and knead into a floured surface. Roll out to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into desired shape and size. Bake on cookie sheet for about 20 minutes at 375 degrees. This recipe can easily be halved. Enjoy!

Pen Pals

Looking for a project for your family to do that will also brighten someone’s day? Well, “write” this way! We are lining up families to adopt a church member who might not be getting visitors during this time when many are staying in. Some ideas to connect are to send your pen pal a homemade card, call them and check in, or even let your kids FaceTime with them. If you would like to be matched up with a member, email Julie Fletcher (julief@harpethhills.org). We are already looking forward to hearing about the special relationships that will be formed!
