A Message from Our Shepherds
We are never “shocked” by your generosity – it is motivated by your sincere love for Christ and this body of His people. You need to know the outcome of last Sunday’s offering for Missions Sunday. And we are eager not only to share that information but also to thank you once again for who you are and what you do.
Your open-hearted faithfulness to our Local and Global Missions generated – as of today, November 4 – $280,000. As you know, there are people and groups with whom we have an established relationship of mutual confidence. We support their work because we believe what they are doing is Kingdom work that honors Christ. They trust us to honor our commitments to them in order to continue. You have made that possible through this offering.
In addition to this note of gratitude from your shepherds, please hear this word from Scripture. It is what Paul wrote to Christians who had supplied a generous gift for the needs of people to whom he had made commitments.
As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ. And they will pray for you with deep affection because of the overflowing grace God has given to you. Thank God for this gift too wonderful for words! (2 Cor 9:13-15 NLT).
