Resolute: A Focused Study of Luke

3.19.23

“Let the Little Children Come to Me”

Jesus has a thing for the least and the last and the lost. Luke wrote story after story of moments when Jesus noticed those who most people overlooked. He welcomed people that most people wouldn’t even acknowledge. He honored people that most snubbed. It is one of the qualities that many find irresistible about Jesus. And if He is who He says He is then this compelling feature is a glimpse into the heart of God. He is resolutely merciful, and he beckons those who follow to join him in being merciful.

Anchor Text: Luke 18:15-17

15 People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 17 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
