Local Missions: Poverty Simulation

Register September 15, 2019 4:00 pm September 15, 2019 7:00 pm America/Chicago Local Missions: Poverty Simulation

Join us as we learn what some of our Nashville neighbors experience on a daily basis. Participants will role-play lives of low income families to better understand and gain insight into the realities of poverty in an experiential setting. Each participant is assigned an identity, placed in a family, and lives a “month” in poverty during the simulation. Each family must work together to have food, shelter, and hopefully, a steady source of income during four 15-minute weeks. It lasts 2.5-3 hours and includes a debriefing session after the exercise. Due to planning requirements, deadline for participants to register is Sunday, September 8.   Questions? Contact Ayesha Nasmyth.
