John Chapter 1
Jason Pagel, preaching
There is no substitute for presence. There are times when we are relegated to experiencing things from a distance. We watch from a screen. We examine a portrait. We listen through headphones. But deep down we all know that it’s just not the same as being there live. You just can’t capture it remotely. A hug doesn’t translate as well from a far. It would appear this impulse is hardwired. It’s a way that we reflect the image of the Creator. He is not content to love at long distance. John tells the story of a God who shows up. What kind of God is God? Jesus Christ of Nazareth is heaven’s answer. He is God in person.
