Clark Fraser Accepts Position as Youth Minister

After a prayer-driven search for a youth minister, which included in-depth conversations with seven individuals, we are excited to announce that Clark Fraser has accepted the role. Clark grew up at Harpeth Hills with his parents and sister, Stuart, Melissa, and Camille Fraser, and his grandparents, Gary and Sheila Clark. It has been a joy to witness God’s work in his life. Clark graduated from Harding University and has since worked as a youth minister in two different churches. Most recently he has led a flourishing youth ministry at Legacy Church of Christ in Fort Worth, Texas. See Clark’s introductory video below.

Our search committee contacted Clark after he was highly recommended by several sources. Clark is highly relational, a gifted teacher, innovative in ministry programming, and a devoted scholar of God’s Word.  Clark is married to Heather, who is from Texas and is a registered nurse. They have two children, Elowen (3) and Michael (9 months). The Frasers plan to move to Nashville in May, and Clark will officially join Carson Sutton as a full-time youth minister by June 1.

We recognize and acknowledge God’s blessings in this movement. We have been searching for a youth minister since last summer.  We are aware of many churches that are currently in year two of a search process. Among those blessings has been our search committee: Lauren and Jamie Burton, Leigh and Phil Ellenburg, Jennifer and Jason Pagel, Rita and David Solomon, Carson and Grady Sutton, Tracy and Gary Waller Jr., and Jason Thompson.

An obvious blessing for Harpeth Hills has been the continued ministry of Carson Sutton, who has faithfully gone the second mile during this season of transition.  She has successfully led our youth ministry for the past nine months and we are in a very good position as we add Clark to our team.

Harpeth Hills has a long history of prioritizing young people. In addition to Carson, Clark will be joining a staff of three other people who have previously served as Youth Ministers. Our Facilities Manager, Rick Kyle, was our Youth Minister from 1987 to 1997. Jason Pagel, our Preaching Minister, served as Youth Minister from 1997 to 2015, and Hayden Parrish, our Spiritual Formation Minister, served as Youth Minister from 2015 to 2022. What a gift to our church family to have such a long and present heritage of ministry to our young people!

As we begin this new chapter, we now have a complete team of ministers who are working with children from birth to young adults. They continue to build a unified effort toward equipping and empowering our families as they nurture and guide the budding faith of the next generation. Harpeth Hills is committed to leveraging our time, resources, and talents toward shaping the youngest among us into fully formed disciples of Jesus. Ours is a church family that has long been committed to this ministry, and we serve a Great God who keeps His promises!

Keep praying and let’s see together what God will do next.
