Did you know that God’s Spirit is right there with you as you read the Bible? And he wants to speak to you through the words! Here are some questions you can ask when you read a Bible passage, to help you figure out what God is trying to say. Pick one or two questions to answer when you read:
- What is something that surprises you in this passage?
- What does this passage say about God?
- What does this passage say about humans?
- What did you learn about loving God?
- What did you learn about loving others?
- Is there an example to follow (or not to follow)?
- Do these verses challenge you to make any changes in your attitude, actions or words?
- Is there anything in the story that reminds you of your life today?
You might have other questions too: That’s great! Ask an adult who loves Jesus-I’m sure they would love to talk to you about them!
