DEAD OR ALIVE AGAIN!
It must to been a shock when he heard his mother was pregnant again. After all he had been a “star” of his parents and their friends attention. Jealous? Of course! From a calf to a goat, that is how the older son was thinking. Pity party – no doubt! A failure to forgive his brother. A failure to love. Can conflicts be healed? Can broken relationships be restored? What a feeling of peace the older son could have had if he had forgiven his brother! We don’t know what his decision would have been.
The parable ends there.
