How Do You Say “Farewell”? (Part 1)

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. – John 15:9-10
If you were standing with God in person, what would you say? What would you ask? John tells the story of God in person. And then he tells the story of God in person preparing his disciples for his departure.
What happens when God is no longer in person?
Life happens…”because I live you also will live.”
Peace happens…”peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.”
Fruit happens…”I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit.”
Persecution happens…”if they persecuted me, they will persecute you also.”
Abandonment does NOT happen.
Even as He begins to say farewell, God in person makes a promise…”Remain in me and I also will remain in you.”
