“Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again” (John 3:3).
Habits. Familiar rhythms. Expectations. A long-held worldview. It’s very difficult to start over. The questions we ask when our device needs to reboot: “…is everything backed up?” “When was the last time I saved my progress?” We don’t want to lose anything. But it would seem this is precisely the point of the kind of reboot Jesus has in mind. It is a total reboot. And in some sense it requires that we lose everything. This is not a restore. This is a total refresh. “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
