God never stops working. At least that’s what we sing. Even when we can’t see it, he’s working. But what is He doing? And why is He doing it? God doesn’t have bills to pay. He’s not looking to build his portfolio or to increase his net worth. He doesn’t have anything to prove. He’s not on a quest for personal significance. Sounds like the perfect set up for early retirement or at least a long beach vacation, so why is God working? There’s a good chance that what motivates God to clock in might help us to answer some of our own pressing questions…what are we doing and why are we doing it and does any of it really matter?
