Discussion Guide for May 21, 2023
The Story
We will focus on Acts 8:4-25, the story of the movement of Christianity into
Samaria. Simon the Sorcerer believes in Jesus and repents when rebuked by
Peter. Please read the passage and be familiar enough with the details that you
are able to tell the story without reading it.

Use the discussion questions to dig into the story and be introspective.
Prayers of God’s People
Prayer time focuses on revival in our church.
Pray Ezekiel 36:26, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will
remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”
Pray for us to respond to the Lord with our whole hearts, holding nothing back
from Him.
Pray for the Spirit to lead us deeper into the heart of God.
Pray that the stronghold of chasing after security, happiness, and pleasure from
the perspective of the world will be crushed, and we will chase after God and
receive His life for us.
Pray that we will grasp and confess our brokenness and recognize our deep need
for Jesus.
Pray that we will be known as a church that is like Christ, set apart for God and yet
a “friend of sinners”.
